In the old quarter of Genoa is the Romanesque Gothic Church of San Donato.
On the Piazzo San Matteo are the houses of the Doria family while on the harbour front is the 14th century Palazzo San Giorgio.

Leaving Genoa behind we will begin our journey along the highway to reach Rapallo, part of the Tigullio Gulf and is located in between Portofino and Chiavari. Here we will begin a brief drive through the Via Aurelia, the Roman “Golden Sun Road” towards S. Margherita, a renowned and elegant resort of the Ligurian Coast.

On departure from our ship we will make the approximate 1-hour drive along the highway to the northern countryside towards Tagliolo, where the homonymous Castle is located.
