From the citadel in Villefranche our coach will take us the short distance to Nice. We will be taken around to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city from the residential area of Mont Boron.
From the citadel in Villefranche our coach will take us the short distance to Nice. We will be taken around to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city from the residential area of Mont Boron. We will follow the Middle Corniche with its superb scenic views of Cap Ferrat, Villefranche and Beaulieu before continuing towards the medieval village of Eze, perched on a craggy peak, 425 metres (1,400 feet) over the Mediterranean Sea. At the village of Eze we will take the next part of our tour by foot. Entering the 14th century double gateway, with crenellations and a sentry walk, this will lead us into the steep narrow streets, which sometimes run beneath the carefully restored houses which are now smart boutiques or artists studios. Once our time in Eze has come to an end we will reboard our coach and take the short drive to Monaco where we will be dropped off at the foot of the Rock of Monaco, the oldest of the Principality’s three sections. On the top of the hill a guided walking tour will take us through the narrow streets, past the Oceanographic Museum, the cathedral containing the tomb of Princess Grace and the Prince Palace. Leaving Monaco behind we will begin our journey back to our awaiting ship in Villefranche taking the Lower Corniche Road, from which spectacular panoramic views of Beaulieu and Villefranche will unfold before our very eyes.
This tour does include approximately 2 hours of walking; 1 hour over cobblestone streets at Eze village and 1 hour of uphill walking in Monaco, therefore this tour is considered not suitable for participants using wheelchairs or passengers with limited walking mobility.
