From the pier it is a short drive to reach the main streets of the ‘Imperial City’. We will pass by the Cours Napoleon, the Church of St Roch, the Prefecture, the Cours Grandval, the English quarter and the Regional Assembly.

We then proceed to the place where Napoleon Bonaparte (who was born in Ajaccio) used to play as a child – the Casone, also called Austerlitz Square.Continuing along the coastal road, we will see sandy beaches and the house of the Corsican singer, Tino Rossi. We arrive at the site La Parata, where we can admire the Sanguinaires islands, of deep-red porphyry, that are situated at the entrance to Ajaccio Bay.We will complete our tour with a walk through the city, passing the statues of Napoleon, the Square De Gaulle, the Cathedral, the birthplace of Casa Bonaparte and the Town Hall on Foch Square, before taking a leisurely stroll back to our ship.Please note that this tour involves approximately 1 ¼ hours of walking over paved and cobbled streets, therefore it is not suitable for passengers with limited mobility. We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes. Please note that there are no public toilets in Corsica, passengers who wish to use the facilities of bars/ restaurants etc will be expected to purchase a drink before using the facilities. All sights will be external visits only.
