Hilly Istrian inland is romantic, mystical and simply beautiful. Medieval whispers of charming hilltop towns and flavours of wine and traditional homemade food are an unforgettable experience. From Rijeka port we will drive towards Motovun, an astonishing architectural landmark. This hilltop town has preserved its medieval ambience in its narrow streets within the town walls. We will take a walk along Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance buildings that will lead us to the main square dominated by the 13th century belfry of St Stephen’s church. Here we will be able to enjoy some free time to explore by ourselves and take in the atmosphere. Departing from Motovun we will make our way towards Vrh. We will be invited to enjoy the view of the surrounding deep valleys, proud towers, vineyards, hilltops and the beautiful Mount Učka. Next we shall have lunch in a traditional Istrian “Konoba” before taking a drive through rolling hills to Draguc, the hidden pearl of Istrian medieval inheritance. Once in Draguc we will visit St Rocco’s church and its greatest value, the glagolithic writings and fresco paintings from the 16th century and works of Antun from Padua. We will then make our way back to our awaiting ship.

Please be aware that this tour includes some moderate walking and will include uphill walking in Motovun, therefore this tour is not suitable for passengers with walking difficulties.
