Our tour begins with a panoramic drive up to Monte Pellegrino to enjoy a beautiful view of the city and visit the Santa Rosalia Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is located in a natural cave and has always been the destination of many devout people presenting the Saint with votive offerings in wax, silver and gold.

Our tour begins with a panoramic drive up to Monte Pellegrino to enjoy a beautiful view of the city and visit the Santa Rosalia Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is located in a natural cave and has always been the destination of many devout people presenting the Saint with votive offerings in wax, silver and gold. If time allows, we shall have some free time here. Our tour will then proceed to cross the Favorita Park, the Burbon’s royal estate that stretches to Mondello, a seaside resort and small fishing centre. Here the bright colours of the sea shine onto the long beach, in the background we will be able to admire the art nouveau villas. Finally we will have a panoramic tour of the city of Palermo via Libertà, which will introduce us to some of its beautiful monuments including Palazzo reale, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza Marina, and Foro Italico. During the panoramic drive a stop will be made for a refreshment including a pastry and a granite (grated ice). After our panoramic tour, we return to our ship. Please note that this tour does involve a moderate amount of walking at the Sanctuary, there are also some steps at the entrance of the Sanctuary to negotiate.
