This tour starts from the ship’s landing stage, from where tenders will transfer us to Athenios port (approximately 15 minutes). We then proceed by coach to enjoy a scenic ascent via the colourful rocky sides of the Caldera (Crater), affording a spectacular panorama of the island. On Santorini’s highest peak, at an altitude of 610 metres (2,000 feet), we will glimpse the Monastery of Profitis Ilias; the breathtaking view of the entire island is sure to captivate us. After this short stop we’ll continue into the vineyards of Antoniou, where we will be guided around the cellars and have the opportunity of tasting wines from the region. Our tour continues with a pleasant drive through the lovely traditional villages of the stunning island towards Oia, located on the northern side. Upon arrival in Oia, our guide will take us on a sightseeing walk through the village. We shall have some free time to explore the artists’ workshops, admire the architecture and typical Santorinian style of the houses and churches, or relax in the café overlooking the volcano (refreshments not included). Following a short journey by coach, we will next arrive in Fira – the attractive capital. Here we’ll enjoy a leisurely stroll to the town centre, where there is free time to browse through the shops and boutiques. Finally we will take the cable car down to the small harbour of Scala, from where our tenders will take us back to our ship.

Please note that tour participants are kindly requested to exchange their shore excursion ticket for a cable-car ticket (for the return) during disembarkation. We cannot guarantee the opening of artists’ workshops, shops or boutiques. Please note that there is an uphill walk from the coach park to the town where the cable car station is situated. At points the uphill walk is steep. There are also some steps to negotiate at the Antoniou Vineyards.
