We will begin with an approximate 45 minute drive to the hilltop village of Castellet, which is situated on top of a wooded hill with views of the vineyards below. The Lords of Les Baux formally owned this remarkable stronghold, which features fascinating preserved ramparts, a carefully restored 12th century church and a castle dating back to the 11th century.

We enter by two fortified gates and begin by walking through the narrow streets towards the castle, which is now home to the Town Hall. We can observe St. Sauveur Church before joining the Trou de Madame where we will enjoy a lovely view inland towards Ste. Baume. We then have some free time to explore the arts and crafts workshops here.

Our visit to the vineyard follows our time in Castellet, where we have the opportunity to taste local wines at Domaine de Souviou. The beautiful provincial winery features an adjacent chapel surrounded by 32 hectares of vineyards and 2,500 olive trees used to produce a rare olive oil.

After our approximate one-hour stay here, we will board the coach and return to our ship.

TOUR NOTES: There will be approximately one hour of compulsory walking on this tour with some uphill gradients. We unfortunately do not recommend this tour to those with limited mobility or wheelchair users.
