TOUR B - AIX EN PROVENCE
Excursions
- 30-35
- 4 hours
Leaving Marseille harbour, we drive to Aix en Provence. Upon arrival, we commence our guided walking tour of the Cours Mirabeau, a wide avenue that is one of the most lively and popular places in Aix.
During our walking tour, we shall also see a fountain that dates back to 1734. Next we can explore the old quarter. Here we can admire the different architectural styles of Saint Sauveur Cathedral, which has a Romanesque nave and a Gothic section. We will then have time at leisure to explore independently, before re-joining our tour coach for the return drive to Marseille.
TOUR NOTES: Please note that this tour involves approximately one and a half hours of compulsory walking during the tour of Aix, therefore it is not recommended for passengers with limited mobility or wheelchair users. There will be approximately one hour of free time, where walking is at the discretion of the individual. There are very few public toilet facilities in Aix, however passengers can use amenities in bars and restaurants providing a purchase is made. Please note that if our stop at Saint Sauveur Cathedral coincides with religious services, we shall make an outside visit only.
