REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

Travel to Iceland’s National park of Thingvellir, before continuing on snow trucks into the icy world of the glacier.

Making our way to Thingvellir, our route takes us up to 700 metres above sea level, into a rocky and barren area between the snow-capped Ok and Langjökull Glaciers.

Changing transportation, we continue on snow trucks. We shall be supplied with overalls, helmets, gloves and boots for approximately an hour on the snow truck. Afterwards we have a lunch break at a mountain hut.

Back on the coach, our tour continues into the Borgarfjordur district and the waterfalls at Hraunfossar. We shall also stop at the hot spring of Deildartunguhver. Continuing on, we head towards the scenic Hvalfjördur. Driving along the shores we return to Reykjavík and our awaiting ship.

TOUR NOTES: This tour is not suitable for passengers with limited mobility or wheelchair users. Participants will need to be able to board the snow truck, and we can not guarantee a completely smooth ride. Please wear sensible shoes and warm clothing – layers (including a windproof jacket) that you can remove if necessary are best. A packed lunch is included, which will be eaten at the mountain hut. Please note that places of interest may be visited in a different order to that described.
