In general, on your Iceland cruise, you will experience a mild climate, however this can quickly turn into heavy rain, wind and fog. The best weather can be found in the north east where Summers are calm and mild with the temperature making it up to 11º C, but the winters are rather colder. From the end of May to the beginning of August, there are nearly 24 hours of daylight in Reykjavík, and the sun barely ever sets in the north. If your looking for the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) these appear from the end of August. In the warmer months we would recommend lightweight clothing with extra woollens for walking and cooler evenings. Waterproofs are recommended throughout the year while medium-to heavyweight clothing will be needed in the winter.
