Bilbao
On the seaboard of the beautiful Basque Country, this major Spanish port sits beside the Nervion River, dividing Old Bilbao (Casco Viejo) and Santiago Cathedral from the newer city that grew up in the 19th century.
For many visitors Bilbao's primary interest will be the world-famous Guggenheim Museum (whose stimulating art collection is rivalled by the buliding's eye-catching design!) and Fine Arts Museum. Within easy reach is San Sebastian, Northern Spain's cosmoplitan resort capital.
