From the quayside, our drive will head out towards Es Cubells, from where magnificent views of the sea and the neighbouring island of Formentera can be seen. Continuing into Cala D’Hort, we will have an opportunity to stretch our legs and our imagination as we stroll from the roads to the cliffs to admire the majestic island of Es Vedra. Our accompanying guide will explain the different features of plant life to be found in the forest. Returning to our awaiting coach, our journey continues to Ca’n Costa, a 400-year-old country house. The guide here will show us the special features of the architecture in Ibiza – including thick walls, small windows, wooden, usually juniper roofs – which fit together to provide a cool environment in summer and warmth in winter. At Ca’n Coasta we will have an opportunity to sample the typical island products, such as ‘sosbrasada’ and ‘butifarra’ sausages, cheeses, dried figs and almonds, ‘palo’ or ‘herb’ liquor and wine.
This tour involves a walk of approximately 10 minutes to and from the cliff top viewpoint at Cala D’Hort, and some walking around the country house. Uneven ground is likely to be encountered. We suggest passengers wear comfortable walking shoes. All other walking is during free time, and is therefore optional. We do not recommend this tour for passengers with limited mobility.
