The Rio carnival is the biggest party in the world. It is celebrated everywhere in Brazil, but in Rio de Janeiro it becomes a fantastic spectacle of the colour, music and spirit of the Brazilian people. The carnival in Rio is spectacular and it is an event that everyone should see at least once in his or her lifetime. All the main avenues are colourfully lit and full of people wearing fancy dress. The carnavalescos are everywhere during the following few days, dancing, drumming and singing, and everyone joins in the festivities! We will depart from the ship and arrive at our sector 9 grandstand seats where we will be given a programme to tell us the Samba school names and songs that will be performed. Drinks and food are available at our own expense and after seeing the delights of what the Rio Carnival have to offer us we will return to the ship, depending on traffic this could be well into the following morning. Please be aware that although there are seats allocated for us there may be a lot of standing around due to the massive amount of people that will be at the very popular carnival. This tour is not suitable for passengers that are unstable on their feet. There will be a number of steps encountered depending on where our seats will be allocated.
