Our tour today, will take us to the secluded palm-fringed Bay of Marigot, enabling us to take advantage of this location’s tranquillity and beauty. This peaceful landscape of swaying palms and sparkling clear water also caught the eye of filmmakers who used the bay as a location for filming the original Dr. Doolittle starring Rex Harrison in 1967 and has left a permanent mark on the names of some local establishments. Departing from the Bay of Marigot, a short ferry ride will take us across the bay to Marigot Bay Beach Club or Doolittles as the locals call it. Here we will be greeted by a local guide and a welcome drink, before being shown the beach and hotel facilities. We will have approximately 2 hours to perhaps relax in the pool or soak up the sun on the pretty beach. If we wish, we can take advantage of some of the watersports on offer (All watersports will be payable locally).Following our free time, we shall stop for lunch at Doolittle’s Restaurant, before returning to our awaiting ship. En route we shall briefly stop at the Marigot overlook for a panoramic view of this picturesque Bay. We recommend that you come already wearing your swimsuit and don’t forget to bring a Beach towel and sun protection with you. There will be a selection of watersports available at the beach – these will be an additional cost and payable locally. Additional drinks and snacks are also available to purchase from the restaurant. Sun loungers are available, but their availability is not guaranteed. Please note that we will encounter a minimal number of steps, some cobblestones and uneven terrain.
