This grand tour covers most parts of the lovely island of Madeira and it is the only tour to visit the rugged and beautiful north coast.Passing through the small fishing village of Câmara de Lobos on the south coast, we stop at Cabo Giraõ – the highest sea-cliff in Europe and the second highest in the world. Then it’s on to Ribeira Brava, where a stop is made before we start to cross the island. We pass through Encumeada, descend to the village of São Vincente and continue along the dramatic coastal road with its white waterfalls. Lunch is served at the charming village of Porto Moniz, in a restaurant near the volcanic rock swimming pools.We now take the eastern route past Ponta Delgada and São Jorge on our way to Santana, where we can admire the colourful thatched cottages. From here we go on to Faial and Ribeiro Frio to see a trout hatchery. On the return to Funchal we will pass by Terreiro da Luta and Monte.Please note that this tour involves a total walking time of approximately 1 hour.
