This lush, sub-tropical, 17 hectare parkland includes Australia’s only man-made beach and lagoon in the heart of the city, rainforest walks, picnic and barbeque areas, water features, a picturesque riverfront promenade, and even a Nepalese Pagoda. We can enjoy around 1 hour of free time in this ambient riverside location, with its street entertainers, pubs and cafés. South Bank is also home to the Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Queensland Museum and the State Library of Queensland – all within a short walk from the ferry stop.Next we shall board our coach to tour the cosmopolitan and lively city, passing by the historical buildings of Parliament House, the Treasury Building/ Conrad Casino, Customs House and City Hall. We continue on to Mount Coot-tha, for panoramic views of the city and surrounds. Here we will make a photo stop to capture those dramatic views, before travelling back through the city to our ship.Walking is at your own discretion during the free time at South Bank. The CityCat is boarded by gangplank, as it is a mode of public transport and it is not exclusive to Fred. Olsen passengers, no commentary will be available throughout our cruise.
