ST GEORGES, GRENADA

Sunnyside is a mature house of character occupied by one of the established Grenadian families.Today, the property boasts a superb garden. Enthusiasts from all over the world have found it worth a visit:

En-route to the Colonial Sunnyside Gardens, this unique tour takes us along the Carenage which is the island’s land locked harbour, through Sendall Tunnel which was built in 1895, and names after the Governor of the Island. We also drive past the market place to Old Fort Road, where we will stop for a photo opportunity.Sunnyside is a mature house of character occupied by one of the established Grenadian families. It is situated in St. Paul's, an area just outside St.George's. The area was favoured by the French and the British in their time, for its proximity to the capital; but also for its elevation (hence views and relative coolness). The architecture and the ambience reflect this.Today, the property boasts a superb garden. Enthusiasts from all over the world have found it worth a visit: because of the profusion of trees, shrubs, orchids and other flowers.Refreshments will be served on the veranda overlooking the beautiful gardens. There is approximately 1 hour of walking involved with this tour as the majority of the tour is walking around the gardens. At time of print the house is being renovated – we hope that it will be fully opened for our calls. For reference, if our ship is berthed at Melville Street Port, then we shall travel through Sendall Tunnel at the end of the tour.
