CASTRIES, ST LUCIA
The aerial tram will provide us with a bird’s eye view of a truly mature Caribbean oceanic rainforest. Nurtured by warm, gentle rains and rich volcanic soils, St Lucia's forests have achieved a state of ancient majesty.
Departing from the quayside, our tour will travel through the capital city of Castries before reaching a village nestled over 2,000 ft in the mountains. Upon our arrival, a short orientation and safety briefing will be given before we are asked to join our aerial gondolas. The aerial tram will provide us with a bird’s eye view of a truly mature Caribbean oceanic rainforest. Nurtured by warm, gentle rains and rich volcanic soils, St Lucia's forests have achieved a state of ancient majesty. The gondolas will glide us through and over the treetops, where knotted and twisted woody vines wind to the tops of the old rainforest trees. Dense thickets of surreal vegetation merge with the cascades of flowers. Lavender stars, orange bursts, yellow berries and white lace thrive on the branches of fragrant flowering trees.Today’s tour will allow us to experience St Lucia’s forest from a whole new perspective and witness this ancient celebration of colour and life. Please note that our tram will glide through and above the rainforest canopy. As the Rainforest Aerial Tram takes participants to quite a height, passengers suffering from vertigo should perhaps avoid this tour. There are sixteen open-air gondolas, which will comfortably seat up to 8 passengers and a guide. Restaurant facilities and a snack bar are available on site, for your convenience. We recommend that you come prepared for rain; bring a waterproof jacket. Binoculars may help you to make the most of your experience, although please note we cannot guarantee that wildlife will be spotted; we consider this tour as a unique ride, rather than an opportunity to see flora and fauna.
