NAPLES, ITALY

On our tour today, we can enjoy a private train ride to the city of Sorrento, before exploring independently at leisure.

Departing the quayside by shuttle bus, we will be transferred to the railway station with our guide, where we will board the Costiera Express, built in the 1900’s and recently refurbished to its original glory. The train journey to Sorrento takes approximately one hour, during which time our guide will provide us with useful information and city maps to help us discover the beautiful sights of the city. En route, we can enjoy the view of the Vesuvius landscapes while we discover the history of the territory.

Upon arrival in Sorrento, we will have some free time to explore at leisure. We can wander along the narrow alleys, characterised by the local handicraft, browse the exclusive boutiques and small shops, or simply relax in the many cafés or restaurants. From many points in the city, we are able to see Naples across the bay, the island of Capri and Vesuvius.

Following our free time, we shall walk back to the train station, and board the Costiera Express for our return journey to Naples and our awaiting ship.

TOUR NOTES: For reference, we will have approximately three hours of free time in Sorrento, where walking is at the discretion of the individual. Our shuttle bus transfer to the railway station takes approximately 30 minutes. There will be an approximate ten-minute walk from the train station into the city centre. The Costiera Express consists of one carriage, and has air conditioning and a sound system. Toilet facilities are not available onboard. There will be approximately five steps to negotiate when boarding the train. This tour is not recommended for wheelchair users.
