VALETTA, MALTA

We travel onto Marsaxlokk, one of Malta’s largest fishing villages. Where we shall have some free time to explore this picturesque village, before we rejoin our coach to drive through some typical tiny Maltese villages, on our way to the Blue Grotto at Wied iz-Zurrieq.

We depart the quayside to Vittoriosa, one of the three historic cities, where we will see the exterior of the Church of St Lawrence, the church has since replaced the tower, which was once used as an observation post by the Grand Master La Vallette during the siege of 1565. We travel onto Marsaxlokk, one of Malta’s largest fishing villages. Where we shall have some free time to explore this picturesque village, before we rejoin our coach to drive through some typical tiny Maltese villages, on our way to the Blue Grotto at Wied iz-Zurrieq. We will have the opportunity to view the Blue Grotto from the top of the cliff, before we proceed once more by coach, and drive through Girgenti, which houses the summer residence of the Prime Minister. There is a stop at Dingli Cliffs, where we can admire the view from Malta’s highest point, and pass by the beautiful Buskett Gardens. We then drive through Rabat around the perimeter of Mdina, Malta’s old capital. On our way back to our ship we pass through Mosta, known for its dome, which is considered to be the third largest unsupported Dome in Europe.This tour is predominantly a coach tour, however a small amount of walking is involved.
