The Rainforest Aerial Tram is located near the boundaries of the famous Braulio Carrillo National Park. It is a perfect way to admire the jungle from a different perspective – from above. The canopy is a little-known world of tremendous beauty and extraordinary biological diversity. The canopy of the Braulio Carrillo National Park is reputedly one of the richest in the world. Following about an hour and a half to two hour drive from the port of Limón, our unique experience begins as we board a gondola (five people per gondola, plus a knowledgeable guide). We will then travel through the rainforest, admiring the magnificent view, for approximately an hour. After a truly wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience, we make the return journey to our ship. At its highest point, the Rainforest Aerial Tram (a cable-car ride) takes us to an altitude of approximately 35 metres (120 feet); as the gondolas are relatively open, passengers with an aversion to heights should perhaps avoid this tour. Please note that there must be 5 passengers per gondola. It takes around 40 minutes to load all the gondolas, so patience is necessary. You may like to take a waterproof jacket, should it rain, and possibly a light jumper; insect repellent could also prove a handy addition to your bag, and sun protection is, of course, essential. Binoculars will help you to make the most of your experience. There is a small amount of walking involved in this tour, over a gravel path to reach the departure point of the tram, and a few steps. A packed lunch will be provided to participating passengers.
