Leaving Genoa behind we will begin our journey along the highway to reach Rapallo, part of the Tigullio Gulf and is located in between Portofino and Chiavari. Here we will begin a brief drive through the Via Aurelia, the Roman “Golden Sun Road” towards S. Margherita, a renowned and elegant resort of the Ligurian Coast. At this point we will board the boat in order for us to reach Portofino. The approximate 10 minute cruise will give us the chance to admire the wonderful landscape of the Promontory of Mount Portofino: the green and rich vegetation, the wild rocks, the little inlets and the lonely beaches often reachable only from the sea. Our boat will enter in the gorgeous bay of Portofino, once a quiet fisherman village with its typical coloured houses overlooking the square and the tiny port, it has become in the last few years, a must for the international and most exclusive tourist. After visiting the Church of St George, where the relics of the Saint are preserved, and admired the ancient fortress of Brown Castle, we will be given the opportunity to discover the alleys and hidden small corners on our own. There will still be time to fit in a little shopping in the elegant boutiques if we would like. Once our time to explore is over our boat will take us back to our awaiting coach in S. Margherita for our transfer back to our ship.

Please be aware this tour is subject to sea conditions and in the case of rough sea Portofino cannot be reached. This tour does involve a walking tour in Portofino of approximately 2¾ hours and so therefore this tour is not suitable for passengers with limited mobility. Due to steps in order to board the boat this tour is not suitable for passengers with wheelchairs.
