Travelling through Jamaica’s beautiful countryside, we will pass many historic sites and villages before reaching the world-famous Dunn’s River Falls, the 600 foot waterfall that cascades down, giant step-shaped rocks, a fantastic opportunity for photo’s.
Travelling through Jamaica’s beautiful countryside, we will pass many historic sites and villages before reaching the world-famous Dunn’s River Falls, the 600 foot waterfall that cascades down, giant step-shaped rocks, a fantastic opportunity for photo’s. The more adventurous of us may wish to climb the 180 metre (600 foot) falls! It is however possible to follow the walkway alongside and watch the water cascade over the rocks, from the observation platforms.After visiting the falls, we will enjoy a buffet lunch, served in the beautiful garden setting of the Ruins restaurant before returning to our awaiting coach.Please be warned that it is both strenuous and slippery to climb the Dunn’s River Falls, but nevertheless it is a worthwhile and exhilarating experience. Swimwear and gym shoes or old shoes you don’t mind getting wet should be worn. For those wishing to see the falls without actually climbing them, there is a walkway however there are a lot of steps to climb – it is possible that these steps may also be slippery. It is worth bearing in mind that the rafts we will travel on are basic constructions. Do not forget your sun protection! Insect repellent may also be advisable.
