From Monaco, our tour begins with a panoramic drive up the Grand Corniche to enjoy the views of this tiny principality and its surroundings, before arriving at Casino Square. Here we take an elevator ride to discover the most prominent and famous building of this square – the Grand Casino (an inside visit will NOT be made) – surrounded by the Hotel de Paris and the Café de Paris. We will have some free time, to step inside the casino, or to stroll around the square and admire the boutiques. Next we descend to the Rock of Monaco, driving along a small part of the Grand Prix circuit of Monte Carlo. Elevators and escalators will take us up to the old city on the hill. A guided walking tour through the narrow streets takes us past the Oceanographic Museum, and the Cathedral containing the tomb of Princess Grace. We will have the opportunity to view (from the outside) the Prince’s Palace, before enjoying some time at leisure prior to returning to our ship.
Please note that the order of sights may vary to avoid congestion. This tour involves approximately 1¼ hours of walking; there are several steps to negotiate, and uneven, uphill ground may be encountered. The Grand Casino opens from 14.00hrs on a weekday. Guests must be over 18 years of age to enter the Casino (your passport will be required) and suitable attire must be worn (i.e. no shorts of trainers). The casino is reached by elevator which can take some time due to the limited size.
