MALAGA, SPAIN

Set against the stunning backdrop of La Concha Mountain, Marbella is a mixture of old and new, with stylish apartments lining the seafront, while typical Andalusian houses are to be found along the picturesque alleys of Marbella’s old town.

Departing the quayside, we travel along the coastline to Marbella, the most cosmopolitan of the Costa del Sol’s resorts and, certainly, the choice of the rich and famous. Set against the stunning backdrop of La Concha Mountain, Marbella is a mixture of old and new, with stylish apartments lining the seafront, while typical Andalusian houses are to be found along the picturesque alleys of Marbella’s old town.

Upon arrival in Marbella, we shall stroll through the narrow city streets. We will be able to feel the atmosphere of southern Spain as we admire the white façade houses with their flowered balconies. We will then visit the beautiful Plaza de los Naranjos, once the centre of commercial and political life in Marbella. Meaning ‘Orange Plaza’, it is aptly named and especially striking when the orange blooms are in blossom. The plaza is surrounded by cafés and restaurants, which makes it a great place to unwind and watch the world go by.

Re-boarding our tour coach, we travel to Puerto Banus, an enchanting port that has become one of the most famous marinas in Europe. Founded in 1960, it got its name from its builder Don José Banus. Nowadays, Puerto Banus is synonymous with wealth, fashion and glamorous parties. It is home to the largest yacht marina in Spain, with more than 1,000 berths – many luxurious yachts are berthed here, including one owned by the King of Saudi Arabia. This grand environment is completed by renowned boutiques and fine restaurants.

Following our period of free time here, we re-board our tour coach for the return journey to the quayside and our awaiting ship.

TOUR NOTES: This tour involves a total of approximately one and a quarter hours of compulsory walking, some of which will be over cobbled and uneven ground, and there will be some steps to negotiate in Marbella. For reference, there will be approximately 30 minutes of free time in Marbella, and 30 minutes in Puerto Banus, where walking is at the discretion of the individual. Please note, there is a long walk (approximately 300 metres/985 feet) through the cruise terminal to our tour coaches, and vice versa. This tour may operate in reverse order.
