For those of us looking for a laid back, low impact glimpse into the culture and natural history of Belize, then this is the tour for us! After a short tender journey, we will board our tour coach and depart for the Museum of Belize.The museum focuses on the Mayan and Colonial history of Belize. Highlights within the museum include, priceless Mayan artefacts dating back some 2,500 years.After our guided visit of the Museum, our tour will continue by focusing on the natural history of Belize. We will board our tour boats for a leisurely cruise up the Haulover Creek. The mangrove branches on either side of the banks meet high overhead to form a living tunnel. These tunnels are home to healthy populations of wildlife – so be sure to be on the lookout for various bird species, iguanas and crocodiles. Our tour will conclude at the Belize tourism village where we will catch the tender back to our awaiting ship.Please note that this tour will involve approximately 1 hour of walking at the Museum. Approximately 20 steps will also need to be negotiated. Passengers are advised to take sun cream, insect repellent and a camera along with them.
