This excursion takes us into remote, uninhabited areas – sure to appeal to outdoor-loving people. We will be transferred to the ranch by minibus, a drive of approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival, we will receive a briefing and be paired with a horse to match our riding ability. The typical Venezuelan lowland horses, called llanos, are sturdy animals that are well adjusted to the heat and humidity of the tropics. Our ride will last approximately 2 hours: 1 hour is spent on the higher ground and low hills, the other on and alongside the beach – thus combining the experience of dry terrain and water. The area that connects the two mountainous parts of Isla Margarita offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the desert landscape. Cacti, wind-battered trees and bush are seen along the desolate trails. There will be ample photo opportunities. This tour is suitable for beginners; there will be no trotting or cantering. Before taking part, you will be asked to sign an insurance waiver. We recommend wearing long trousers and closed-in shoes; headgear is provided.
