From the pier we will travel to Plaza Mayor, the main square, where we can appreciate the majestic colonial architecture. Flanking the square are the Government Palace, where Francisco Pizarro took up residence in 1538.

Flanking the square are the Government Palace, where Francisco Pizarro took up residence in 1538. The Cathedral, which houses Pizarro’s remains and where we will visit the on site museum; the Archbishop’s Palace, with its beautiful balconies; and the Town Hall. Our tour continues with a visit to the 17th century San Francisco Monastery with antique catacombs. After a drive through the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, we return to our ship. There is a moderate amount of walking involved in this tour.
