This tour is an odyssey as we experience the thrilling past, present and future of America’s space programme. Leaving our ship we board a Kennedy Space Center coach and meet our local guide. The drive to Kennedy Space Center should take approximately 20-30 minutes. En route our guide will brief us on our Florida Space Coast visit and upon arrival will escort us around the fascinating exhibits. During our time here we will have the opportunity to touch a piece of Mars, explore a full-size Shuttle replica, enjoy an IMAX presentation and stroll through the world’s only Rocket Garden! We will also be invited to look even closer at the world’s busiest space launch facility! Following our guided tour of Kennedy Space centre we shall be taken on the ‘Nasa up close’ tour which will be led by a trained space expert. Our tour will take us on an approximate 2-hour narrated journey through the Space shuttle program, from launch preparation, to lift-off and landing! Included in our photo opportunites by the Space Shuttle Launch Pads A & B and the huge Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) which houses the space shuttle prior to its roll-out to the launch pads. Our tour will also take us through the industrial area of the Kennedy Space Center. This is home to both the Operations and Checkout (O & C) building, where Astronauts prepare for their flights. Our last stop is to visit the award-winning Apollo/Saturn V Center. At the Apollo/Saturn V Center, we can relive the launch of Apollo 8 then explore an actual Saturn V rocket – one of only three in the world! In the Luna Theater we’ll take our seat to watch as man lands on the moon. Back at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, we reboard our coach and return to our ship.
