HAMILTON, BERMUDA
We shall join our local tour guide for a picturesque drive of Bermuda’s famous South Shore as we head to the historic Royal Naval Dockyard.
Before arriving in the dockyard area, we will make a stop for pictures at Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, which is alleged to be one of the oldest cast iron lighthouses in the world. The lighthouse was completed in 1846, stands 117 feet from base to lantern and the beam can be seen 40 miles out to sea.
Our drive will then continue along the south shore where we can make a brief photo stop at one of the magnificent pink sand beaches. We will drive over Somerset Bridge, the smallest drawbridge in the world, first built in 1620, and then drive through the quaint Somerset Village to the Royal Naval Dockyard where we will be shown the attractions such as the Island Pottery, Art Centre, Maritime Museum, and Crafts Market.
While in the dockyard area, we will be given approximately one hour to stroll and explore on our own for shopping or sightseeing before returning to our ship.
