PHILIPSBURG, ST MAARTEN
Departing from the marina, we will cruise the Simpson Bay Lagoon passing the luxury villas of Sandy ground while our onboard entertainer sings some light calypso songs to create the island ambience as we view the mega yachts which visit the many marinas situated in the calm waters of the lagoon
Our tour today will leave the cruise ship pier and pass by the great salt pond, whilst we enjoy a narrated tour with our guide pointing out places of historic interest and explaining some of the colourful history of the island.Our sightseeing tour will stop briefly, enabling us to enjoy the views overlooking Orient Bay with St Barths in the distance, before continuing to Grand Case Village and arriving at the Marina Royale, where we shall join our double-decked explorer boat. The Explorer will wait at the docks for a short time, while we spend a brief time browsing in Marigot, or we can simply relax onboard, sipping an ice cold drink and enjoying the views of the marina.Departing from the marina, we will cruise the Simpson Bay Lagoon passing the luxury villas of Sandy ground while our onboard entertainer sings some light calypso songs to create the island ambience as we view the mega yachts which visit the many marinas situated in the calm waters of the lagoon. With music and ice cold drinks we will cruise past Port de Plasaince to Simpson Bay docking at the Explorer private dock where the coach awaits us.During our return coach journey we will have views of our ship and Philipsburg as we drive along the south side of the island. For those wishing to continue shopping in the Dutch capital, there will be an optional drop-off at the end of our tour.Please note that this tour may not be exclusive to Fred. Olsen passengers. Casual clothes, comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a sun hat are all strongly recommended. For passengers who opt to be dropped in Phillipsburg at the end of our tour, please be aware that you will need to make your own way back to our ship and this will be at your own expense.
