On this excursion we will fly over the mountains that lead up to the edge of the inland icecap. By helicopter we cross Johan Dahl Land, heading for the glacier in Brede Fjord – which spills into the large fjord – an amazing sight!
On this excursion we will fly over the mountains that lead up to the edge of the inland icecap. By helicopter we cross Johan Dahl Land, heading for the glacier in Brede Fjord – which spills into the large fjord – an amazing sight! The flight at low altitude gives us a wonderful view of the rough Arctic landscape up to the icecap. After flying along the Brede Fjord Glacier, we land on the mountainside, having a 30 minute ground stop, overlooking the front of the glacier, before returning to the heliport.
Please note that not all passengers will be seated next to a window, although we are assured that everyone will enjoy a good view. It would be courteous for passengers beside the window on the outward flight, to change with those in the middle seats after the ground stop. A limited commentary may be given. Transfer to and from the airport is included. This tour is subject to last minute cancellation – depending upon weather conditions, and the fact that the helicopter used may be needed elsewhere if an emergency situation arises.
