Our tour commences with a visit to the Arab Street, which showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Malays and relives life in a kampong (small settlement) in the 50’s and 60’s.We will proceed to Changi Chapel and Museum, to visit the museum and view a replica of a chapel, which was used during World War II. Represented here is the collective spirit, which rose through the darkest times of the war, when the Japanese occupied Singapore. Our tour continues with a drive through Changi Village, giving us a chance to see the relaxing side of Singapore. Finally a stop is made at Tampines New Town, a typical heartland township of present day Singapore. We can see the blocks of local public housing, food centres and supermarkets, as well as shops selling daily needs of the people. Please note that this tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing. Including walking at the Arab Street, Changi Chapel and Museum, and Tampines New Town. Please note that the use of still and video cameras is not permitted within the Changi Chapel and Museum.
