BERGEN, NORWAY
As we explore the modest house, we will wonder at the significance of the notes that once filled these rooms. The walls whisper stories of melodies that sprang from the heart and hands of an incredibly talented man.
Catch a glimpse of Bergen’s past in a corner of western Norway that abounds in culture and history. The legendary composer Edvard Grieg lived and worked in Bergen’s Hop district during the summertime. His lakeside home, ‘Troldhaugen’ (meaning ‘Troll Hill’), is now a museum, and is located next to the concert hall where we will enjoy a 15 to 20 minute performance. Grieg was fascinated by trolls – mythical monsters that, according to legend, lived in the mountains of Norway. As we explore the modest house, we will wonder at the significance of the notes that once filled these rooms. The walls whisper stories of melodies that sprang from the heart and hands of an incredibly talented man.
