The glass bottom kayaks used for this tour are a fantastic way to view the beautiful underwater world of coral and fish, which live in and around St. George’s Island. We shall board our kayaks from the beach, which will mean boarding the kayaks from waist deep water; once we are all settled into our kayaks we will receive a short orientation and safety talk before our fun begins! Following our guide, we will paddle along the beautiful shoreline made up of lagoons and fascinating rock formations at a relaxed pace for approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Along the way we might be able to see Herons and Bermuda Longtails if we are lucky! As we paddle we will be able to see some of the sights dotted along the shoreline, including some of Bermuda’s forts which date back to the 1600’s. When our guided kayak tour concludes, we will have some free time for a cooling swim or relax on the boat.
Please note that although we will paddle at a relaxed pace, this tour is considered strenuous, as we will be paddling continuously for approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Prior experience of Kayaking would be an advantage. The route taken will depend upon favourable sea and weather conditions. What marine life may be seen is obviously unpredictable, as is the clarity of the water at the time of our call. In order to reach our kayaks we will have a short transfer by boat, a ladder and swim platform will need to be negotiated to transfer from the boat to our kayaks. Life vests will be provided, therefore we recommend that you wear these for the duration of your tour. The kayaks we use will seat two passengers. There is a maximum weight limit of 400lbs (28 stone) for both passengers. There are changing facilities on the transfer boat however we recommend you come already wearing your swimsuit and do not forget your towel, sun protection and sun hat! A bottle of complimentary water will be provided.
