Departing from Palamos pier we will proceed to Figueres. It is the capital of the Alt Empordà (Upper Ampurdan), where Dalí was born. We will do a panoramic sightseeing passing by the most important places and squares of Figueres. We will then proceed to the Dalí Museum. The museum is installed in a former theatre next to the bizarre achre-coloured Torre Galatea where Dalí lived until his death in 1989. The remarkable Dalí collection includes a vintage Cadillac with ivy-cloaked passengers. Dalí himself is entombed beneath the museum. After our visit inside the Dalí museum we will move onto the “El Prado” museum in Madrid, which is the most visited museum in Spain. It contains paintings, sculptures, drawings and sketches by the artists. It is original and spectacular in keeping with the wonderful personality of the famous surrealist painter. We will then have some free time to explore on our own before returning to our awaiting ship. Please be aware that this tour involves approximately 2¼ hours of walking in total with steps to encounter at the Museum of Dalí.
