A unique, fun and exciting opportunity to circumnavigate St Barth’s by sea, in just 1 ½ hours! We will travel in a 9 metre (30-feet), 450 horsepower, high-speed rigid inflatable. It is fully equipped for sea rescue, and is licensed to travel out as far as 320 kilometres (200 miles) from shore. Onboard we will be standing, leaning against a support with our arms gripping the bars behind. The captain will give us a safety briefing. Leaving the harbour of Gustavia we zoom off southwards, passing Shell Beach and Pointe de Gouverneur (where we meet the southeasterly swell). We then see Gouverneur’s Beach the most secluded beach of Chovet (only accessible by boat) and Salines Beach. The boat now passes Morne Rouge, the southeasternmost point of St Barth’s, and enters the Atlantic Sea. Soon we will view the beautiful valley of Grand Fond and the highest mountain on St Barth’s at 286 metres (938 feet), Morne Vitet. Passing along the windward side of the island and by Pointe Toiny, we reach the north side of St Barth’s. Our boat continues, travelling past the beaches of Petit Cul de Sac and Grand Cul de Sac, Marigot and Pointe Milou with its millionnaires’ villas! We shall also see Lorient, the bay of St Jean and the tiny airport landing strip, Flamands and Pointe de Colombier. A short stop is make at Rokfeller Beach, where we can take a dip in the warm waters of the bay, or simply enjoy a refreshing non-alcoholic drink. Our adventure concludes as we return to the tender pier at Gustavia. This tour is only for the adventurous amongst us! It is not suitable for passengers with neck, back or leg problems or heart conditions, pregnant ladies or children under the age of 16. You will need to be fit with good balance and able to swim. According to the weather conditions, the boat may have to alter its course and therefore the itinerary is subject to change without prior notice. Wear casual clothes and shoes that you do not mind getting wet (you will almost certainly get wet!). If you wish to swim, come already dressed in your costume. Although there is storage under each seat, we do not recommend bringing valuables. If wearing sunglasses, these should be secured on a neck chain. Life jackets are supplied and are compulsory.
