An approximate 10 minute journey will take us to the majestic Columbus lighthouse, Faro a Colon, the last burial of the Great Admiral Christopher Columbus and one of the most impressive commemorative lighthouses in the entire world. The lighthouse was designed in 1929, by British architect, John Gleave, and finished for the fifth centennial anniversary of the discovery of the America’s. We will visit the interesting museum that holds exhibitions of all the countries that financially supported the construction of the Lighthouse.Next, we continue onto the Three Eyes Lakes, Los Tres Ojos, one of the most spectacular natural sites of the city of Santo Domingo. The National Park is home to three marvelous lakes in a wonderful under earth open cave, all surrounded by exuberant tropical flora. Our last visit will be to the Amber Museum to see the largest private collection of Amber fossils in the world. Here we will also have the opportunity for a spot of shopping for arts and crafts as well as Dominican gem stones, rum, coffee and much more.Please note that this tour involves a moderate amount of walking at each of the sites visited. At the Three Eyes Lakes the walking will be over uneven ground and may be slippery, so please take extra caution here. This tour will involve passengers negotiating several steps, for your reference at the Columbus Lighthouse there will be approximately 120 steps, at the Three Eyes Lake approximately 100 steps and approximately 50 steps at the Amber Museum. Please note that only the Amber Museum will have toilet facilities.
