This half day tour is a colourful drive along the north east coast of Upolu, the main island, although only 1100sq kilometres in size and volcanic in nature. We will pass through traditional villages nestling along the Coastline where time has changed very little over the decades. A stop will be made at Nature’s “Plum Pudding Rock” for photographs before continuing on to Falefa Waterfall and estuary. This was the trading port for the beach whalers and the locals in the early 1800s.

Our return trip will be made via the same coastal road and we will make a 30 minute stop for a village photograph stop or a cultural activity that might be in procession on the day of our arrival.

Gina’s tropical gardens will be our final stop. An abundance of native and tropical plants, flowers, fruits and all that is typical of a garden in the tropics will be available to view. An assortment of the family of “Bird of Paradise”, ginger plants, different varieties of Axoria, Heliconia and Ylang Ylang to name just a few, fruits like papya, guava, star fruits, pineapple and mangos are plentiful on the lush land. A demonstration of coconut climbing, husking, grating and making of fresh coconut cream will be available to watch at the gardens.

Refreshments of locals fruits, bottled water and coconuts will be served to us at Gina’s gardens before we make our return journey back to our awaiting ship.

TOUR NOTES: There is approximately 1½ hours of walking involved in this tour, however most at your own discretion. Toilets will be available at Gina’s garden.
