This tour showcases the contrast between old and new, and the blend of East and West. We shall drive past the Colonial District for a view of the Padang (a large, open green expanse), by Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, and the Merlion – a mythical beast, Singapore’s original half-lion, half-fish. A stop is made in fascinating Chinatown, where temples and traditional shops retain the Chinese character in this enclave. We shall be able to visit the Chinese Temple, and may have chance to stop.Travelling up to Mount Faber, 105 metres (344 feet) above sea level, we can capture a bird’s eye view of the world’s busiest port and the oil refineries on the offshore islands. Our tour concludes with a visit to the National Orchid Garden, located in the Botanical Gardens.Please note that this tour involves a moderate amount of walking; including walking at Chinatown, Mount Faber and the National Orchid Garden. At Mount Faber, there are approximately 40 steps to negotiate in order to reach the best viewpoint. There are also steps at the National Orchid Garden.
