The north west area of Skåne is often called the Ceramics Centre of Sweden. With its long deep-rooted traditions, and more than 60 potters and artists who have chosen to settle in the area, the region breathes a fantastic creativity. Old traditions mix with new ideas and different methods result in beautiful and unique objects in the field of art, craft and design.

With its long deep-rooted traditions, and more than 60 potters and artists who have chosen to settle in the area, the region breathes a fantastic creativity. Old traditions mix with new ideas and different methods result in beautiful and unique objects in the field of art, craft and design. We shall begin by driving through the centre of Helsingborg, and along the coast past the fishing village of Old Viken with its half-timbered houses and colourful bathing huts lining the beach. We then stop at Lerberget to visit one of the local artists. She will show us her special methods of working and enjoying her art, in her welcoming studio. Continuing further north a second stop will be made to witness a totally different type and method of creating ceramics that has been in this family for four generations. On the way back to Helsingborg we will stop in Höganäs – home to Sweden’s largest stoneware manufacturer with the same name. At the BodaNova-Höganäs Factory Outlet we are given the opportunity to purchase items of ceramic and handicrafts from renowned brands, at bargain prices. After our time here we return to our awaiting ship. This tour is guided throughout and includes approximately two hours of walking and standing. It is not suitable for passengers with limited mobility or wheelchair users. Swedish Kronor and credit cards will be accepted at the Factory Outlet.
