SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

From the pier, we proceed by bus to the Botanical Garden. Upon arrival we will commence a tour with our knowledgeable English-speaking guide.

The Botanical Garden of Santo Domingo covers approximately two million square metres (21.5 million feet), and is the largest in the Caribbean. It exhibits the natural flora of the island, and there are areas dedicated to palm trees, exotic plants and orchids – the Dominican Republic hosts over 300 varieties!

To get the most out of this tour, there is likely to be a lot of walking, although a mini train (if running during our call) may also take passengers around the Botanical Garden. Please note that the traffic in Santo Domingo can be heavy, therefore delays could be experienced. There could be a wait to board the mini train. A bottle of mineral water is included. Please note that the Botanical Garden mainly consists of trees and plants, rather than flowers; what may be flowering is dependent on the season.
