As we depart from Séte, we will follow the coastal road that passes by the towns of Palavas les Flots and La Grande Motte with their impressive pyramidal buildings. Over time, these pretty fishing villages have been transformed into lovely seaside resorts. Our drive continues to Aigues Mortes. With its large towers and fortified curtain wall, Aigues Mortes stands out from a somewhat melancholy landscape of ponds, sea marshes and salt pans. Saint Louis, King of France, built this walled city in the 13th Century as a departure harbour for the crusades. We will be taken on a short guided walking tour of the town, before having some free time to explore at our leisure, strolling through the charming town. We reboard our coach to return to our awaiting ship in Séte.
Please note that this tour involves approximately 1 hour of walking, some over cobblestones, and a few steps. This tour is not suitable for passengers with limited mobility or wheelchair passengers.
