AGADIR, MOROCCO
This tour allows us to view a blend of old and new Morocco.
Departing the quayside, we can enjoy a sweeping view of the city and beaches from the ruins of the old Kasbah, set on a hill where Agadir was situated before the devastating earthquake of 1960.
We then proceed to the bustling market town of Inezgane, which developed after the earthquake, when many of the survivors sought refuge here. In Inezgane, we will get a glimpse of ancient Moroccan traditions as we stop for mint tea and a folkloric show at a local restaurant.
En route back to our ship, we can enjoy a city tour of Agadir, which was rebuilt on a new site following the earthquake.
TOUR NOTES: This tour involves approximately one hour of walking, some of which will be over uneven ground, and there will be some steps to negotiate at the Kasbah and Inezgane. Unfortunately the Kasbah is not wheelchair accessible. For reference, toilet facilities are available at the refreshment stop. Please note that depending on the ship’s berth there is an approximate 200-300 metre walk from the ship to our tour coaches. Places of interest may be visited in a different order to that described.
