CASTRIES, ST LUCIA
Departing from the quayside, we shall board our 4x4 vehicles to begin our drive through Castries. We shall make our first stop at Morne Fortune, a picturesque scenic outlook, where the islands beauty lies before us.
Continuing on, we will pass by the lush banana plantations, the island’s tallest mountain – Mt Gimie – and a variety of tropical plants and flowers. Next, we shall stop at the picturesque town of Anse-La-Raye, home to dug-out canoes and wooden houses some 100 years old, before arriving at the River Rock Waterfall.
Upon our arrival, we will disembark our 4x4’s and walk a short distance to the natural swimming pool. Here we will have an opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the waterfalls cooling waters whilst revelling in the beauty of this natural setting. We will also be invited to enjoy some refreshments here, before returning to our vehicles feeling refreshed and exhilarated.
Our next stop will be at Marigot Bay, where the bays palm-lined shores are still unspoilt, making it the perfect setting for motion pictures and a favourite amongst yachtsmen! Before returning to the pier, we shall visit Eudovic Art Studio, a 40 year old tradition of sculpting which mirrors the artistic symbols of the St Lucian people. Eudovic uses local wood for his abstract carvings and since no two roots are the same, every single sculpture is unique and different.
