CANO ARAGUAO, VENEZUELA
In small, rustic boats we will explore the channels of this fascinating river. We should observe rich flora and, with luck, fauna too. We may see herons, blue jays, toucans and monkeys, possibly even river otters and crocodiles. There will be an opportunity to fish for piranha!
In small, rustic boats we will explore the channels of this fascinating river. We should observe rich flora and, with luck, fauna too. We may see herons, blue jays, toucans and monkeys, possibly even river otters and crocodiles. There will be an opportunity to fish for piranha! No stops are made on this tour, but a degree of mobility is required in order to get on to and off the small boats, which are boarded by gangplank (unfortunately there is no space for wheelchairs). Wear clothing suitable for hot and humid conditions, and do not forget your sun protection and insect repellent. For reference, the boats are not covered and are considered fairly rustic. Binoculars may aid you in spotting birds and creatures along the riverbanks, but we cannot guarantee what flora and fauna may be seen. It is advisable to bring along a bottle of mineral water. The small boats do not have a guide onboard, only a driver and they are not equipped with toilet facilities. It is strongly advised that passengers wear their life jackets throughout the boat journey.
