Anchored sleepily at the southern tip of the Bahamas, this British Crown Colony is a peaceful cluster of more than 30 low-lying islands and cays (only a third of them inhabited) with miles of deserted white sand beaches - Governor's Beach by the charming little waterfront capital of Cockburn Town the best-known - where the iguanas and crabs can sometimes seem to out-number the human residents!
