Our tour will begin with a scenic drive through Port Elizabeth, the island’s only town, before heading up towards Mt. Pleasant, which affords marvellous views of our ship, the wider Caribbean Sea, and the surrounding Grenadine Islands – a camera will be a must have for this stop

Our tour will begin with a scenic drive through Port Elizabeth, the island’s only town, before heading up towards Mt. Pleasant, which affords marvellous views of our ship, the wider Caribbean Sea, and the surrounding Grenadine Islands – a camera will be a must have for this stop. Following our brief photo stop, our tour will then continue up the Atlantic Coast with its alternating ocean views and beautiful roadside floral scenery as we make our way to the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary. Mr Orton G King, owner of this sanctuary has spent most of his time tending to the precious and endangered Hawksbill turtles. We will be able to listen to him spin tales of these ancient inhabitants of the deep, answer any questions we may have and discover how we might be able to join the conservation effort.Continuing we will make a short stop at the Spring Pottery shop, where we may be lucky enough to see the local artists at work. Some items may even capture our attention as the shop produces some world-class items. Then it is on to a local miniature boat building company where we will be able to see craftsmen at work. We’ll be able to see the work in several stages, including the finished product and should we wish, we can even purchase our very own model boat complete with sails and riggings.The quaint little town of Port Elizabeth will then beckon us back to explore the vegetable market and souvenir stalls, where brightly coloured items wave gaily in the wind. The rest of the time will be ours.Please note that the market area at Port Elizabeth is within 100 feet of our tender/departure point. This tour will include approximately 1 hour of walking and standing.
