This 12 acre site is also home to the Caribelle Batik Studio, where we will be able to admire the handcrafted designs on display.Our exhilarating nature hike then begins. We meander along a flat looped trail, deep into the cool green chambers of the diverse rainforest. Among the vine-laden trees and tropical wild flowers, a wide variety of rare and colourful birds and butterflies may be found – if we are lucky, we may even spot the elusive green vervet monkey. There are many medicinal plants growing along the trails within the rainforest, for example, black sage, once used to treat coughs and colds, and wild cilliment, whose leaves were soaked in rum to relieve soreness. Following our walk, we will enjoy fresh Caribbean juices, fruits in season, pastries and spring water. This is a walking tour of around 1 hour (over a distance of approximately 1 ½-2 ½ kilometres/1-1 ½ miles), therefore it is unsuitable for passengers with limited mobility; some rough terrain and steps will be encountered. Wear practical shoes. Do not forget your sun protection, and bring insect repellent. Wildlife in its natural environment is highly unpredictable; therefore we are unable to guarantee sightings of any creatures. Similarly, the flora seen is subject to seasonal change. Please note that it is illegal to wear camouflage in St Kitts.
