Experience the secrets of the mysterious Mayan ruins of Chacchoben – a perfect introduction to Mayan history. We will leave the port of Majahual for a drive of approximately 1 hour to the site. Along the way, our guide will give us some information on the area, Mayan culture and history. The Chacchoben ruins cover approximately 10 acres and they are surrounded by lush vegetation. We can explore the main pyramid and view several other detailed temples. We will see the comparison between the recently excavated ruins and the deep, buried, unexcavated ones that lie beneath the sacred ground of this Mayan site.
